FR INHERENT FABRICS: A VS. B

INHERENT FABRIC means that the FR protection is an aspect of thread used within the fabric of the garment, as opposed to the garment fabric being treated topically. Inherent fabric provides exceptional flame resistance and thermal protection. Below is a description of two different types of inherent fabric. Look for their inherent classification symbols in our catalog.

North American Safety Fire Resistant FR Arc Flash clothing, apparel, gear, and equipment. Inherent fire resistant fr fabric description. Safety certification descriptions for NFPA 70E, NFPA 2112, HRC 1, HRC 2, HRC 3, HRC 4, Class 1 ANSI 1, Class 2 ANSI 2, Class 3 ANSI 3.Inherent A refers to thread that has been physically altered to create a fire resistant carbon shell around each fiber of thread and a visco-elastic core prior to being woven into fabric. This composition allows for an extremely lightweight, breathable, and moisture wicking fabric that’s inheritability is unaffected by proper laundering. Inherent A, FR fire resistant fabric can be found in all of our TECGENTM products.

Inherent B refers to thread that has been washed with fire resistant treatment prior to being woven into fabric. Inherent B FR fire resistant fabric can be found in many of our Carhartt products.
